Al-Khaleej vs Al-Nasr: Will the crisis of Ronaldo and company last?
Our Expert Predictions & Analysis on Al-Khaleej vs Al-Nasr
Al-KhaleejGeorgios Donis's charges continue to fight for a place in the top five teams of the season, and so far Al-Khaleej's success has been mixed. The team alternates between resounding successes and deafening failures. For example, at the end of last year they beat the champions, Al-Hilal, at home (3:2), inflicting their first defeat in many, many months, but after that they lost two matches in a row. And it was especially disappointing to lose to Al-Ittifaq, who were in crisis (1:2), and to do so while leading in the score during the match.
Al-Khaleej still lacks class. Along with such quality players as Fabio Martins, as well as the head coach's compatriots Dimitrios Kourbelis and Kostas Fortounis, there are also frankly mediocre players, the lack of adequate alternatives for whom often leads to sad consequences in the form of a loss of points.
Al-Nasr
The current season for Al-Nasr seems to be turning into a complete failure. At least this concerns the Saudi Arabian championship, where Stefano Pioli's charges have already dropped out of the top three in the league table.
Having lost points in the last round against Al-Taawoun (1:1, and during the match Cristiano Ronaldo and company were forced to recoup), Al-Nasr has already dropped to fourth place. Now, not only Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad are ahead of the "blue-yellows", but also Al-Qadisiya, which has surpassed Pioli's team by two points. The leading duo of Ronaldo and company are already behind by 11 points in the table of ranks.
Perhaps Al-Nasr should think about the future, especially since it is still very vague given the uncertainty regarding Cristiano Ronaldo and his contract. The media write that the Portuguese is being persuaded to stay, including by offering a share of the club. But Cristiano has not yet made a final decision, which will greatly affect the future of Al-Nasr as a project.
